How should we word our reviews policy?

State what reviews you publish, what you remove and why, including health claims, and apply the policy to every review.

A reviews policy tells shoppers how you handle reviews and gives you a clear basis for moderation. For CBD stores, it also keeps health claims in customer reviews off your product pages.

What to include

  • Who can leave a review, such as verified buyers
  • That you publish positive and negative reviews alike
  • What you remove: health or medical claims, personal data, offensive content, spam
  • That you don’t pay for or edit the meaning of reviews

Sample wording

We publish honest reviews from customers, good and bad. We remove reviews that make health or medical claims, share personal information or break the law, and we never change what a review says.

Apply it evenly

Removing only negative reviews is misleading and may break consumer rules. Moderate by the policy, not by star rating.

See Playbook 4 on the playbooks page. Treat this as general guidance, not legal advice.
